Ten full Saturdays of ACT preparation — English, Math, Reading, and the now-optional Science section — run the same full-day way as our Digital SAT program. Developed and taught at our Parsippany and Bridgewater campuses.
The ACT was rebuilt, and the version students sit today is not the one most parents remember. The changes reached online national testing in spring 2025 and paper testing in September 2025, so every current test-taker is on the enhanced format.
Science is no longer a required section. Students choose the ACT on its own, the ACT with Science, the ACT with Writing, or both add-ons together.
English, Reading and Math alone produce the composite score. A student who takes Science receives it as a separate score, reported alongside a STEM score that combines Math and Science.
171 questions, down from 215. A student who skips the optional Science section answers roughly 131 — and the core test runs about two hours rather than three.
Passages were trimmed along with the question count, so the test leans less on raw reading stamina and more on handling each passage accurately.
A student who is solid in English, Reading and Math is no longer pulled down in the composite by a weak Science section. For some students that alone changes which test to sit.
Some STEM programs and scholarship committees still want to see a Science or STEM score. The right answer depends on the college list, which is worth settling before test day rather than after.
The ACT is offered seven times a year at test centers across the United States. Registration deadlines fall roughly five weeks before each test, and a late window stays open for about three more weeks at an added fee.

Deadlines close at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. Scores are typically released about two to four weeks after each test date. July testing is available to students in New York beginning in 2027. Dates are set by ACT and can change — confirm the current schedule at act.org before registering.
The ACT program runs ten Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM. Each session works the way our Digital SAT Saturdays work: instruction across the tested sections, timed practice under real test conditions, and targeted review of the specific question types a student keeps missing.
A full Saturday, ten times over — long enough to teach a section properly and then practise it under time in the same day, rather than splitting the two across weeks.
English, Math and Reading for the composite, plus Science for students whose college list calls for it. Students decide on Science with their instructor, not by default.
Timed, full-length practice is part of the program, and extra full-length tests are included at no additional cost.
The program runs at Parsippany and at Bridgewater, so families take whichever location fits the Saturday drive.
This is a Y2 Academy Parsippany & Bridgewater program, written and taught by our own instructors for the enhanced ACT rather than adapted from older SAT material.
A free ACT diagnostic shows where a student actually stands before the first Saturday — and often answers the SAT-or-ACT question on its own.
The Spring 2027 ACT cohort begins Saturday, January 23, 2027. The full calendar, locations and tuition are shared directly — by phone, or through the registration form.
Ten full Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at our Parsippany and Bridgewater locations. Each session runs the same way as our SAT program: instruction, timed practice under real test conditions, and targeted review of the question types a student misses most. Free extra full-length tests are included.
No. The 320+ point improvement guarantee applies to our Digital SAT programs, which are scored on the 400–1600 scale. The ACT program is a separate offering and does not carry a score guarantee.
The enhanced ACT is shorter — 171 questions instead of 215 — and the Science section is now optional. The composite is calculated from English, Reading and Math only. Students who take Science receive a separate Science score and a STEM score. The change reached online national testing in spring 2025 and paper testing in September 2025.
It depends on where they are applying. Science no longer affects the composite, so leaving it out does not lower that number. Some STEM programs and scholarships still ask to see a Science or STEM score, so check the requirements at each college on the list before deciding.
Colleges accept either, with no preference between them. The practical way to decide is a diagnostic in each: most students score meaningfully better on one, and that is the test worth the preparation time.
